4th of July Weekend

Gabel and I were so excited for the weekend of the 4th! We were off work which is always nice...and we decided we were going to go camping Thurs night and Friday night! We got everything ready and headed out Thursday afternoon. At this time they were calling for thunderstorms the whole weekend...which didn't sound like fun. We got to Ohiopyle, got the tent up, and decided to make a fire before it started raining. We got a nice fire going and cooked some tin foil dinners right before it start to rain, and rain! It rained for about an hour on and off (thank goodness for the trees). My sister Colleen arrived with the rest of my siblings...and as soon as they came the rain stopped. We got their tent up and started making some dutch oven dinners. It was great the rain held off for about 3 hours so we were able to eat dinner, enjoy smores, and play a game or two while sitting next to the fire! Then the rain started and didn't stop. It rained all night. Our tent had steady drips coming down from the top so needless to say we didn't sleep that night. The next morning the rain stopped for about an hour then it started up again. Gabel and I decided we had had enough. We didn't stay Friday night. We got the tent packed up and headed home. Everything was soaked!! That night we went to his family's house for a cookout and to Monongahela for fireworks. Despite the rain we had a good time.
